Publishing News!

**The books are now available for purchase! Please use the affiliate links on this post and throughout my website and then look for the titles Emerging Writers: an Anthology of Fiction and Emerging Writers: an Anthology of Nonfiction.**

Hey guys! You’ll see that I recently took down two of the pieces in “The Portfolio” on this website. That’s because I found out those two stories have been accepted for publication!

I submitted them to Z Publishing several months ago and just found out two weeks ago that they were accepted to their respective anthologies. You will be able to purchase them for your bookshelves at home (or e-bookshelves), so I decided to take them down. I’ll hopefully be posting a couple of new stories in their place after I graduate in December.

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus is the story of a young boy who discovers the most wonderful and unexpected Christmas gift when he sneaks out of bed on Christmas Eve. This is the first in a series of short stories which I call my Song of the Season Series. The second, inspired by the song “Santa Baby,” will be written and posted to my website Christmas 2019. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus will be published in Emerging Writers: An Anthology of Fiction.

First Vintage is a reflection on my first wine-tasting trip to Napa and Sonoma Valley. It revolves around the surprising discovery I made during the trip and illustrates the personalities of some of the best wineries in the area. This is one of my first significant attempts at creative nonfiction, and it’s a piece I’m rather proud of. First Vintage will be published in Emerging Writers: An Anthology of Nonfiction.

The books will be released in ebook and print format at the end of the month, but are already available for pre-order. I’ll only be paid for my work if you purchase using the links on my website, Patreon, newsletter, or social media, because it’s difficult to divide royalties up between so many different contributors in an anthology, so instead I earn a substantial commission from sales that are intended to support me in particular.

Plus, purchasing these anthologies can introduce you to a number of great up-and-coming Nevadans who are in need of fans. I haven’t had the opportunity to read the books myself, yet, but you’ll be getting a full review from me once I’ve had the opportunity to read them (probably after I graduate in December). I did catch the name of a friend of mine, Toni Pacini, when I was looking over the revisions to my pieces. Toni’s a wonderful writer, so I have no doubt the rest of the anthologies will be worth the read!

As always, thank you all so much for your support, and don’t forget to follow me on social media.

All my best,

Carson
